For indigenous communities living across the 12 Asian countries where the snow leopard is home, this sacred animal is both an enduring symbol of their national and cultural heritage, and an indicator of the health and sustainability of Asia’s high mountain ecosystems. And its future survival depends not just on warding off threats like poaching and loss of habitat: its survival also depends upon the enduring respect and value that traditional communities uphold for this totem animal.

The income received is used for activity expansion.
